Sip and Paint Kit – How To Paint Guide 🖌️

Sip. Paint. Unwind.

Here are some tips to make painting with your Sip & Paint Kit fun, easy, and memorable. No pressure! Just follow the vibes and these easy steps!

Inside your kit:

  • Canvas & Easel
  • Acrylic Paints
  • Inspo Photos
  • Paintbrushes (Small, Medium, Large)
  • Palette
  • Non-alcoholic Mojito (optional)
  • Tissue Paper

Setting up:

  1. Choose Your Spot - Find a comfy table with plenty of space.
  2. Protect Your Area - Use the included tissue paper to prevent spills.
  3. Lay Out Supplies - Set up your paints, brushes, canvas, and palette!

Grab these extras:

  • A cup of water (for cleaning brushes)
  • Tissue paper or a cloth (for drying & blotting)
  • Your favourite drink!

Ready, set, PAINT! 🎨

Step 1: Choose Your Subject - Use one of the included inspo pics or freestyle something from your imagination

Step 2: Start With the Background - Use the large brush for skies, water, or large colour areas. Paint big and loose this sets the vibe!

Step 3: Add Shapes and Details - Switch to the medium brush for trees, buildings, figures, or shapes.

Step 4: Final Touches - Use the small brush to outline, add highlights, or tiny details. White and black go last!

Paint in Layers - Let each layer dry before adding more.

Colour mixing made simple

Primary Colours: Mix to Create:
  • Red
  • Yellow
  • Blue
  • Red + Yellow = Orange
  • Yellow + Blue = Green
  • Red + Blue = Purple

Make it lighter or darker:

  • Add white to lighten
  • Add black to darken (tip: Add black a tiny bit at a time! It goes a long way.)
✅ DO:

❌ DON’T:

  • Rinse your brush thoroughly between colours
  • Let paint dry between layers
  • Test mixes on the palette first
  • Step back and view your painting from a distance
  • Relax and enjoy the process!
  • Use too much water (just enough to clean brushes)
  • Mix too many colours at once (mud alert!)
  • Stress about mistakes
  • Drink your brush water (yes, it happens!)

Extra tips!

  • Test colours on the edge of your palette before applying
  • Play music to set the mood – check out our official playlist!
  • Snap progress pics, even messy stages are part of the magic!
  • If you make a mistake — let it dry, then paint over it

Finishing up:

  • Let your artwork dry flat for 20–30 minutes
  • Clean brushes with warm water + soap
  • Show it off! Hang it, gift it, or post it and tag us @brushndrink
